Euphoriac

1/7/02

City lights tell nothing
Are mute behind the mask
And should they speak, I’d care not
For the stars are out tonight

They sparkle and whisper
Spinning tales of the past
Of the better times already lived
Times of the childhood, fragrant summer breeze
Flirting through fine boyhood hair

They wrap the arm of the sky around me
And show me life
From a windswept rise
Above a lazy frozen river

I am alone, I cry inside
The river within me youthful, strong

I think of you
In the orange lights of us,
The white lights of the secret sky

This lone moment of mine
I cannot share
I’d hold you close
Like a dying love
But it cannot be so.
